This is a full-time position that requires strong troubleshooting skills and a customer service focus. This position will be based out of Trinity’s Waltham MA office.

Reporting to IT’s Associate Director US, the Senior Systems Administrator will be responsible for Managing Trinity’s Network and Server infrastructure. Along with insuring accurate and reliable backups of corporate data, the position will be required to participate in 24×7 tiered support. Additionally, the Senior Systems Administrator will assist in conducting vulnerability and patch management activities, along with developing, reviewing, and maintaining IT standards and operating procedures documentation. The Senior Systems Administrator will be working directly with the Database Administrators, and Help desk staff to design, implement, and support IT solutions.  

Position Requirements:

  • Education: Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred, not required
  • Work Experience: 4+ years of advanced systems administrative support

Skills: Preferred but not required:

  • MS Windows Server OS expertise
  • Linux and GCP experience
  • Active Directory and Domain Administration in hybrid environments
  • Advanced Office365 Administration support
  • Storage, database, and backup admin technology delivery/services
  • VMWare configuration and support (certification preferred)
  • Networking protocols knowledge (TCP/IP, HTTP, SFTP)
  • 24×7 support environment experience
  • Scripting and automation (PowerShell and Bash)
  • Basic understanding of Terraform and DevOps principles and practices

Other duties and responsibilities:

  • Serves as a technical expert in system administration for complex operating systems with an understanding of global or multi-office network infrastructure.
  • Develops, documents, communicates, and enforces network technology policies.
  • Installs and configures new software and hardware, including server networks, devices, and firewalls.
  • Monitors system performance, IT system operations, and storage utilization.
  • Plans for necessary hardware or software upgrades to support system growth.
  • Manages user accounts and assets, assigning and updating security permissions on the network according to policy.
  • Provides support for escalated help desk requests.
  • Leads a team of Systems Administrators and coordinates with different departments.
  • Mentors team members and educates users.
