We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) to join our finance team. The Director of FP&A will be responsible for managing and overseeing the company’s financial planning and analysis activities, including the annual planning process, monthly forecasting, financial modeling, strategic analysis and development and review of Board presentations. This position will report to our Vice President of FP&A and will work closely with the CFO and other senior executives at Trinity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, with proven experience in leadership roles and a track record of success in FP&A. This person should be hands-on and passionate about their career and is looking for a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Position Responsibilities:
- Lead the annual financial planning and monthly forecasting processes, collaborating with multiple stakeholders across the organization.
- Manage the financial reporting and analysis for the company, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
- Provide financial analysis and strategic insights to senior management to support decision-making processes.
- Work with senior leadership to implement strategic initiatives, including growth investments, pricing analyses, new product offerings and geographic expansion/entry into new markets. Determine ways to measure ROI and track performance against these investments.
- Lead and mentor the FP&A team, providing guidance, coaching and professional development opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization, including senior leadership, department heads, and external partners
- Develop and monitor financial KPIs and manage the creation of executive dashboards and other data visualizations to track business performance
- Creation of internal & external executive reporting documents including Board and other management presentations
- Other special projects, as requested, including assisting with due diligence or integration of potential acquisitions and development of 5-year strategic plan
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of relevant financial experience. Proven track record in leading/managing an FP&A team.
- Degree in Finance, Accounting or other relevant degree; MBA and/or CPA a plus.
- Must have thorough understanding of financial statements and the interface between board reporting, management reporting and budgeting/forecasting.
- Relevant experience with software and technology solutions that the FP&A team utilizes to help with forecasting, data visualization and reporting, including PowerBI, Adaptive and Salesforce (or similar solutions).
- Strong presentation and communication skills required. Ability to collaborate across various financial and operational groups from senior management to staff.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and finance principles
