Hypoactive sexual desire disorder (HSDD) is the most prevalent form of female sexual dysfunction (FSD) in the United States and is characterized by a decrease or lack of sexual desire accompanied by distress. Despite the relatively high prevalence of HSDD in US women 18-44 years of age (∼10%), there is a limited understanding of the condition among physicians.
