Product Engineering Summer Intern – Generative AI

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join Trinity Life Sciences as a Generative AI (GenAI) Intern on our Product Engineering team. In this role, the intern will assist in developing and implementing state-of-the-art GenAI models for various applications within our product offerings for our clients in the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry. Interns will work closely with our team of engineers and data scientists to research, design, and implement cutting-edge products.

Interns develop their skills through undergoing extensive formal and informal training, as well as receiving mentorship that encourages them to stretch their skills in a real-world setting. This is a 9-week internship program based out of either Trinity’s headquarters in Waltham, MA or Trinity’s office in New York, NY – interns will be required to work in a hybrid work model, coming into the office about 2-3 days per week. The dates for the program run from June 16-August 15, 2025.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and implementing GenAI models as part of various applications for our life sciences clients
  • Conduct research to identify GenAI models and implementation techniques suited for specific use cases
  • Analyze and evaluate the performance of GenAI models
  • Test and validate the performance of GenAI models using real-world data
  • Collaborate with other team members to design and develop model enhancements and refinements
  • Assist in preparing technical reports, presentations, and documentation

Position Requirements:

Candidates should be enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate program in computer science or a related field. Trinity is targeting current Juniors, or students in a master’s program with 1 year left in their studies.

Required Skills:

  • Strong programming skills (e.g. Typescript, Python, SQL)
  • Familiarity with different types of large language models and/or agentic frameworks
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

Value-Added Skills:

  • Experience doing software development with different types of large language models in an academic or corporate setting
  • Experience with building RAG flows with open-source software
  • Experience with machine learning algorithms and deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras
  • Experience with natural language processing (NLP) or image processing

Compensation

Trinity’s compensation bands account for a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets and market demand for skills; level of experience and training; specific qualifications, performance, time in role/company, geographic location, and other business and organizational needs. The hourly rate is $35/hr.
